Prayer for our Church

God, our Heavenly Father, make we pray, the doors of this church wide enough to welcome all who need human love and fellowship and a Father's care: but narrow enough to shut out all envy, pride and lack of love.

Here may the tempted find help, the sorrowing receive comfort, and the penitent be assured of your mercy; and here may all your children renew their strength and go on their way in hope and joy, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The Collect (Prayer) for All Saints Day

Almighty God,
You have knit together your elect in one communion and fellowship in the mystical body of your Son Christ our Lord:

Grant us grace so to follow your blessed saints in all virtuous and godly living that we may come to those inexpressible joys that you have prepared for those who truly love you,through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen

 

Almighty ever-living God, by whose gift we venerate in one celebration the merits of all the Saints.

Bestow on us, we pary, through the prayers of so many intercessors, an abundance of the reconciliation with you for which we earnestly long.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever.
